Jakarta - President Joko Widodo requested that the Ministry 
of Youth and Sport and PSSI 
seriously welcome the 2021 U-20 World Cup. Preparations 
must start as soon as possible in order 
to succeed as a host and achievement.
Indonesia was designated as the host of the 20-21 U-20 World Cup. 
That is, the time left to prepare is arguably quite short.
PSSI proposed ten stadiums to hold the U-20 World Cup. 
Including the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (GBT) which suffered severe 
damage when Persebaya Surabaya against PSS Sleman.


Jokowi requested that Kemenpora and PSSI not waste time preparing 
to welcome the event. 
He hopes that the national team will go as far as possible.


"I have entrusted to the Minister of Youth and Sports, please be prepared from now on, supported by PSSI to prepare our U20 from now on," Jokowi said at the Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta, Friday (01/10/2019). "And the preparation is really, a long preparation. Later we don't want the implementation of the U-20 World Cup to be successful, while the team is far from what we want, not to be reached.
