Indonesian U-16 national team player Alfin
Lestaluhu died. Had confusion about his illness, now he was confirmed dead due
to encephalitis.
Alfin Lestaluhu exhaled last Thursday
(10/31/2019) at 22.11 WIB at the age of 15, after being treated at the Harapan
Kita Hospital. He was initially rumored to be one of the survivors of the
magnitude 6.8 Ambon earthquake on Thursday (9/26).
He was initially treated in Ambon but later
moved to Jakarta. But his condition did not improve until he fell into a coma
and then died.
PSSI Bandung Media Officer Saputra revealed
the diagnosis of doctors related to Alfin. Right-back U-16 national team was
called having Encephalitis with hypoalbumin.
Encephalitis is a condition in which the
brain experiences swelling due to infection or due to an immune system
disorder. Infection can be caused by bacteria or viruses.
The Encephalitis Society website reveals
that around 500 thousand people experience this condition globally each year.
While the level of public awareness related to this disease is only 12%, aka
78% do not know what Encephalitis is.
While hypoalbumin is a medical condition
where the level of albumin, which is the main protein in the blood produced by
the liver, is too low. This condition can trigger swelling.
Alfin's body was flown to Ambon via a
flight via Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Friday (1/11) at 06.00 WIB earlier. He
is a dropout SKO Ragunan, who was later called to strengthen the U-16 national
team.
